The pal system

You can travel solo.
You don’t have to start solo.

Tell us the kind of companion you travel well with. When someone on the same departure feels compatible, we ask you both before making an introduction.

  1. 1
    Make a travel note

Your pace, interests and how much company you actually want.

  2. 2
    We look for the overlap

A person reads every note. This is matchmaking, not an algorithmic popularity contest.

  3. 3
    Both say yes

Only then do we introduce you. A short video hello comes first; sharing a room never does.

What kind of pal fits you?

Three quick choices make a useful starting brief.

1. Pick your journey
2. Your natural pace
3. After a full day, you’d rather…

A pal is a bonus, never a condition. Your trip works whether or not a match appears.

Your note stays private. We share contact details only after mutual consent.

Your room is your own. Pal matching means a friendly first face—not forced sharing.

Why Palindreams

Specialist enough to remember.
Relaxed enough to enjoy.

Two friends pausing beside the sea
Human-sized

Enough people for a spark. Few enough to hear everyone.

Specialist-led

Hosts who know the subject, the place, and when to let both breathe.

No lanyards, lectures or compulsory fun.

Solo-friendly

Built around the realities of travelling alone.

Clear joining points, solo rooms, sensible pacing, and an optional friendly face before day one.

Questions, answered

The practical bit

Still unsure? Send a note and a person will reply.

Do I have to use the pal system?

Not at all. Every trip is designed to welcome solo travellers directly. The pal system is simply there if one familiar face would make the first day easier.

Does a pal mean sharing a room?

No. Published guide prices assume your own room. If two people later ask to share, we can explore it, but matching never depends on room sharing.

How do you decide who might get along?

We look for the useful overlaps: daily pace, independence, interests, sleep patterns, alcohol preferences and how much quiet time each person needs. A human reads the notes and both people opt in.

Are these confirmed departures?

The dates and prices shown are launch guides while groups form. We confirm the full itinerary, operator terms and payment schedule before taking a booking or deposit.

Who can join?

The current pal service is for adults aged 18 and over. Each journey will publish its own mobility, fitness and access notes before booking opens.

Your next good story

Choose the dream.
We’ll help with the pal.

Tell us which journey caught your eye. You can ask about the trip, join the pal list, or simply say you’re curious.

Start with a note

Where are you dreaming of?

No payment and no pressure. We’ll reply personally within two working days.
